ALL STRETCH GOALS MET???
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jun 18, 2021 at 07:13:42 PM

Hi Everyone!!!

I just want to say that we DID NOT expect to be making this update so soon after the last one but here we are! As the title of this post indicates we have successfully unlocked ALL our planned stretch goals which means we've got book enhancements, slip cases, a hardcover omnibus!!! EXCITING!!

What does the new stretch goal mean in regards to the Omnibus? We will simply be upgrading the omnibus to the hard cover version for anyone that pledged to a tier with this reward included or added it on to their pledges.  Essentially if you pledged to any sort of omnibus reward you don't need to do anything at all but sit back and enjoy!

This also means that with still 6 days to go we will be adding 2 more stretch goals, one for a bookmark and one for a patch. The goals are going to be a lot higher than our original set to give us a bigger buffer for the increase in backers and to pay our artists and editors a fantastic bonus for their amazing work on this series <3

We still have 6 days to go to really push this thing!!  Help us by spreading the word to folks you think might be interested in the campaign!

Thank you all again so so much for all your help!  I cannot wait to bring some beautiful books to life!

One Week Left!! Stretch Goals!! Coquelicot's Cover??
almost 3 years ago – Thu, Jun 17, 2021 at 03:55:25 AM

Hi Everyone!!!

Hooboy there is a LOT to update on as you can see by the very exciting title. We have just a little over 7 days left of the campaign which means a whole LOT can still happen before the Kickstarter ends!

So firstly, stretch goals!  We've officially unlocked:

  • The Slipcase
  • The Omnibus
  • Foil Enhancements for BOTH the Set and the Omnibus

Leaving us with ONLY the hard cover, cloth-bound Omnibus upgrade! We are only about $2k away from reaching it. I think we can definitely make it!

We are also looking into adding a couple of stretch goals to keep this project pushing forward:

  • $15,000 -- A Prism Knights Bookmark
  • $20,000 -- A Prism Knights-themed iron-on patch!

These goals are a bit on the excessive side because we have BIG DREAMS and we're hoping to give each of the individuals who worked on this project (either as an editor, cover artist or illustrator) a good bonus for their efforts in really bringing this series to life! PLUS any excess funds go directly to helping Windy & Wallflower (my partner and I) fund future exciting books and projects for you to enjoy <3

BUT IN EVEN MORE EXCITING NEWS!!!

One of our amazing artists, Harriet, finished up the new cover for Coquelicot and my goodness, it's beautiful!

Artwork by Harriet Moulton

It's extremely exciting to have all these covers side by side, everyone has done such an amazing job I am absolutely floored by the results so far! I cannot wait to get my hands on formatting all these books for print and sending them off!

Right now I am finalizing some work on Juniper and since the Kickstarter is going so well I'm excited to share a little snippet of my draft for you~!

I think that's all I have for now!  There's still one week left to make all of this happen and I really think we can get at least reach that fancy omnibus before the end!

Thank you all so much for your help so far everyone! Lets keep this momentum going!

Update!! First 24 Hours?!?
almost 3 years ago – Thu, Jun 10, 2021 at 06:49:35 AM

Hi Everyone!!

PHEW!  What a wild ride this first 48hours has been! We are FUNDED and we've hit TWO stretch goals already!!! Hooray!!  Thank you for all the support so far!!

I have a lot to cover because we've gotten quite a few questions so I'll try to address everything under obvious headlines if you want to skip through to the thing that interests you the most!

The Slip-case

Let us start with the GOOD NEWS! We've unlocked TWO stretch goals already!! First was the slip-case which will allow folks who purchased The Set from this Kickstarter to have a boxed set of books!  I've never been able to do anything like this before so I am EXTREMELY excited to see how this all turns out!

That being said I know a couple folks expressed interest and perhaps a little concern since they've bought older versions of the book (either at conventions or our online shop or otherwise) and were curious if this slip-case would also fit those editions of the books. I have to admit that I am not sure how feasible this will be but we are looking into this and other options for you all (more on that below)!

The Omnibus

OHBOY This one is EXCITING (and also a little terrifying). FIRST OFF I want to say THANK YOUUUU for helping us reach this goal oml I can't even believe it!!!  I would like to personally introduce you to the artist who will provide some illustrations for it:  Isabelle Melançon

You might recognize her for their work on NAMESAKE!  Her illustrations are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and I am SO HAPPY to be working with them!

Isa's Joan of Arc illustration is only one of her massive and stunning body of work! Please click through to check out their webcomic!

Second, I know hitting this goal also means we are going to have a hell of a flux on the campaign for folks who will want to adjust their pledges to account for the change. But I also think we can keep things moving forward and hit the last two fancy stretch goals to add some foil and flair to these books~

The omnibus is $45 CAD and we have a new tier to accommodate it already up!

We have another new tier....(s) we've added also:

  • Collector's Tier: No limit, Full Set + Omnibus
  • Super Collectors Tier: Limit of 2, All the original covers + New Set + Omnibus

We've also added the Add-on for the omnibus for those interested!

Add-Ons???

I've gotten a couple questions concerning Add-ons and Tiers and Covers so I will try to address them here!

  •  What are add-ons/how do I add things to my pledge? Our tiers are very simple this time around for us to better keep track of things on our end! So we've added anything we have pertaining to Prism Knights as add-ons you can select once you've selected your reward tiers.
  •  Now that we have the Omnibus unlocked what happens to the full digital set? Nothing! During the surveys we will give folks who selected the 'full digital set' an option to have each individual PDFs of the books OR the omnibus PDF. The content will mostly be the same but we will let you know if there will be any differences before you have to make that decision!

I have the first 4 books and I want to show support but...

If you are one of these folks and are reading this, hello hello and thank you so so much for your support!! I know this Kickstarter is making things a bit tricky for you if you're anything like me and like to keep book series consistent and matching perfectly in your collections. Unfortunately with this Kickstarter we were not able to complete the set with the covers by the original artist so this left us with a new conundrum. Rather than finish the series with covers that don't quite match we thought it would be best for our budget (and for consistency all around) to re-design all of the books. This will also mean that I am going to be re-formatting the stories with my new knowledge working on series after I first started publishing this one.

TL;DR: The sizes of their spines might shift and change which means we likely will not be able to budget for 2 different slip-cases (or 3 if you have one of the very first runs of Coquelicot) to match. I know this is definitely frustrating for you. Unfortunately it's something we're learning a lot through our experience creating series and being entirely independent.

HOWEVER. I cannot leave you all in the lurch like this. Because, as a book-lover myself I want to be sure everyone is happy with their rewards and the products they get from us.

If you would like to support the Kickstarter and get yourself a full perfect set but are iffy about duplicates unfortunately we cannot buy-back books but we are offering instead that you can choose to keep your books or give them off to friends or family you might think would be interested in them (OR donate them to your local libraries/thrift stores!!) and we will give you a nice discount (up to 50%) to our online shop applicable to any item you might be interested in. We'd ask you to screen-grab your pledge & take a photo of your books so you can e-mail them to us after the campaign's end in two week in exchange for your coupon code.

OTHERWISE we are opening the floor to you and what solution you might prefer. Keep in mind we are still indie and can only do so much within our budget/means and capabilities. We had one of you folks suggest dust-jackets for the old versions of the stories which is a really great idea.  We're unsure if it will be feasible due to the fact that these books are a very small format and we're not sure how well they would stay in place, but we're open to your input on the matter!

Let me know what you all think!  Thank you so much for all of your utmost patience and help with this project!!! It's taken a huge place in my heart for 4+ years now I'm so happy it was met with such positive feedback so far!!

Only two stretch goals left and a whole 2 weeks to go!

Thanks so much everyone!
